Get a load of this!

Introducing OSIM's latest product, the iGallop!!

It's a known fact that horse-riding can help lose some inches of the waistline, so OSIM produced the iGallop which mimics the trot of a horse. This is excellent for ladies who would love to have flat abs, firm butt and tone thighs.

This product first caught my eye when i saw its advertisement on the tv. Actually, it wasn't the product but the models riding it...

They looked like they were having so much fun... but anyway...

I was thinking, why spend the money and get this product? They might as well sell condoms...

We are in the Top 1180!

We qualified!!

Some of u guys might have heard of me (JK & HV) taking part in the Loreal e-Strat Business Game. There was a cocktail reception last week to congratulate the teams that qualified into the 2nd round to represent Malaysia. There were 30+ teams representing Malaysia in this international game from a total of around 10000+ (i think).

Anyway, our team submited our decisions for the simulation a couple of days ago and the results came out this morning. The object of the game is to boost our Stock Price Index (SPI) as high as possible with the business decisions we make in the game. Well, we were (at least i was) quite optimistic that we would be able to improve our SPI from 1071+ (in Round 1) further in Round 2.

So, the results came out and i searched for our team name. Our SPI has dropped to 900+!! My first thought was 'F**k!' then i checked again. A total of 1180 teams in the world qualified and guess what we got?

1078!!

That's crazy right? We qualified! I'm going to buy 4D with that number!!

At the reception i heard that at Round 1, our team was ranked 6th in Malaysia. Now...

Let me help you, instead of looking from the top, try from the bottom...

You see it? Yeah, team Ithree, ranked 23rd. Aiyah, but wtf lah, we are the remaining 25 teams in Malaysia to qualify!

United States, the Global Empire?

It has been some time since i updated this blog. I guess i'm losing interest writing or just lazy to think of materials to write. Anyway, i want to share a book which i've just read. Since The Da Vinci Code, the word 'conspiracy' have often popped up at me n me frens yamcha sessions and conversations so i guess maybe some of my friends might find this book interesting.

New York Times bestseller, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man by John Perkins is a true story about himself as an Economic Hit Man (EHM). An EHM, based on the definition from the book are people hired by international financial institutions such as the World Bank, IMF or huge corporations to encourage countries (mostly third world) to take out huge American loans with the promise of economic and social development to the country. They acheive this through fraudulent financial reports, statistics and in the author's case, misleading forecasts which causes victim countries to take out larger than need loans for their own country's development which in turn are contracted to US companies and corporations.

The result is the economic boom doesn't come true as predicted (due to the 'over-optimistic' forecasts) and the country is burdened with huge loans (for eg, the book says Ecuador spends 50% of its national budget just to service the loans!). Then these companies or countries (in this case the US) use this as leverage to pressurize countries to do their economic and political bidding.

The book gives a brief insight on the mechanism that his home country employs to promote the expansion of the 'Global Empire' and to safeguard US oil supplies. The author goes on to share his experiences in countries such as Indonesia, Latin American countries and of course, Saudio Arabia.

Of course as a reader (and an objective one, i hope), i don't try to assume everything in the book are true. However, his discussions on recent and not-so-recent international events (for eg presidential assasinations) and international politics make me think about the world today and triggered my sudden interest in global politics.

What if what he wrote is true or even half of it is true? The rest of the world currently seem helpless in stopping this new form of imperialism. This is especially evident when you look at how even the United Nations was helpless in stopping the US from invading Iraq and yet whenever a country goes against the will of UN, often the US is the first one to spearhead its noble cause. Btw, have they managed to find any WMDs? The only result of the invasion is that we know the country with the WMDs is the US itself.

We Are History

Haven't been back to the campus for some time. So kinda outdated with the latest happenings in MMU Melaka.

This was a year ago, a group of friends taking their photo for the Sigma yearbook...

(Extracted from abeautifulmind.blogspot.com)

Now there are black and white photo of us?! It has only been a year but it looked like an entire age since we took the photo. Did God accidentally press the fast-forward button?

Life as a trainee...

Entry #1 in ITP log book:

- Power failure in factory

Entry #2 in ITP log book:

- Manager not in office today (when in fact he WAS at the office). No new tasks assigned to me
- Continued with FYP research

Lately my log book has been filled with lame entries like these. It has reached a stage that i have given up to come up with craps or bullshit to write in the log book. It's just so pathetic my ITP.

As Week 9 of my ITP draws near, i can't stop wondering what could i have acheived if i had put this 9 weeks (and the next 3 weeks) into better use. Finished a computer game? Went to the gym? Wrote a book? The next Kuala Lumpur bestseller, a sequel to John Grisham's "The Broker" proudly entitled, "The Trainee"?

I guess life just has the knack of giving us shit. Well, in a way i think i should be grateful also lah. If i were made to work like a dog, i wouldn't have started on my goddam Simulink for my FYP.
